I own a concrete coatings company On The Floor Coatings. I finally got around to doing my own garage this past week and attached pics. Not soliciting as most of you are 99.9% not near me, but thought I would answer any general questions, if any of you were thinking of doing this where you live.
Look up great local reviews in your area to get a company to do it right.
Tips:
Look up great local reviews in your area to get a company to do it right.
Tips:
- Don't do it yourself. You do not have the proper tools and it will peel off and look worse than before.
- Don't allow a painter to acid etch, as it will peel and hot tire turn will ruin it.
- Full grind is mandatory for epoxy adhesion. It scores a profile that anchors epoxy permanently.
- Epoxy with moisture vapor barrier is best for base coat, not polyaspartic. Polyaspartic has ZERO MVB.
- Get full flake coverage as it looks better and hides small impefections in floor.
- Polyaspartic topcoat to seal and protect the flake. Polyaspartic is 4 times stretchier than epoxy and does not yellow in UV sunlight like epoxy can.
