For those looking to connect their phones/iphones, here's a great (bluetooth) solution.

I like to play along to backing tracks, drum loops and songs on the Moises app (where I loop slowed down sections practicing solos) and would never drag my laptop out each time I want to practice, so the ability to practice with my phone is HUGE. After fighting a while, trying to use the USB, etc, I found the best possible solution. I'm connecting to the (analog) input 2 using a 3/5mm TSR to dual 1/4 inch TS cable and connecting it to a small bluetooth receiver (mine is the ES100) but FIIO and many brands have them. You do have to modify your presets to incorporate a second input (and looper if you want to loop) but it has been AWESOME. I now have quick bluetooth connectivity to my phone that sounds great with really great audio quality and none of the wi-fi interference I have with my Waza Airs! Initially the volume was a pinch low but I just adjusted it in the settings for input 2 which was super easy. Just thought I'd share. Happy playing!

I’m not sure in understand

If you want to play backing tracks from your phone, all you need to do is connect the FM3 to the phone with a USB cable.

No input configuration is needed.

What’s hard to understand? OP stated they ‘struggled’ with USB and found a better solution for their situation.

To use apple generation with lightning you would need a special apple adapter to be able to connect your phone via usb. You then have a solid cable connection. Obviously he wanted something wireless. I appreciate the tip!

So I actually tried multiple cables from the iphone and a mini camera adapter (aftermarket) and couldn't get my iphone to connect. I was able to get my old Android to connect but not my iphone for some reason. I also wrote service and they advised ios is unsupported so it may or may not work....either way, I MUCH prefer this wireless method. Given that I play almost exclusively late night/early morning I have to wear headphones, so it's just too many cables when I plug my phone in. This bluetooth method also sounds considerably better than my Android into the usb-b.

This is very strange

I’ve used multiple iPhones and iPads, with different connectors and cables, it worked every single time, right now I even have a USB hub on my pedalboard.

I had difficulties with USB compatibility but that was because apart from audio I’m also using MIDI over the same connection, needed to power the phone/ipad, and also connect other controllers simultaneously, plus need USB-C. But just straight phone-FM3 connection always worked, without me doing anything special about it.

Well, good that you found a solution after all.
