I was going for the AM4, and this QC Mini comes out.. I know Fractal's tone, but it has a fixed number of blocks and signal-chain, no pitch block, still needs a computer. QC mini is 400€ more here, not that much more considering the size, touchscreen, connectivity, power, capture, plugin integration etc. Hell, even the FM3 is out of the party.

I would buy a Fractal like this in a heartbeat, SEND HELP

After trying Fractal I could never get back to QC, unless they really stepped up their amp models. For my use case I need modelling, not captures.

Im not totally familar with QC but dont they also have regular Amp models too that are adjustible or are they only just captures for Amps even the factory ones?

All that Cliff said was "Don't know about Line 6 but be prepared for a surprise..."
 
Just a speculation…

I can imagine a behemoth crowd of very unhappy people if an AX4 comes out anytime soon with a new firmware/algorithm that doesn’t support this new release of products (AM4,VP4) and if it can support those , of course it’s more powerful bros (ax3,fm3/9 ) “ “should” be able to aswell.

It kind doesn’t make sense to release a new gen of product anytime soon from that perspective.

But then what’s the value proposition of a new gen product if it’s older gen can make the same sound? (Apart from the maybe NAM inclusion and I/O etc)

I’ll assume also whatver the AX4 is going to be in the 2.5-3k range

Not that new gen firmware “should” have to be backwards compatible of course

Happy to be proven wrong.
