Yeah, I saw the same tour at age 12 in NY and Philly. I regularly read Marvel Team Up and Fantastic Four, but Ace Frehley was by far my favorite superhero.Very sad. First concert was 1979 in Cinci when I was 9.
I wish I could have jumped into Eddie stuff in particular, but 10-11 year old me who couldn't properly tune a guitar or change strings could only handle KISS stuff.I've read more "He's the guy who inspired me to start playing guitar" about Ace than anyone else. More than said about Jimi, Eddie, and Jimmy combined.![]()

After all these years, I'm still in awe of how much heavier a guitar sounds when tuned down a 1/2 step. I remember having those very first KISS guitar songbooks and it always perplexed this 13-year-old why this band chose to play everything in a flattened chord(?).As a side note, the new Pitch block was incredible as I had the Virtual Capo on the whole time at -1.
Oddly enough for two songs it works: Parasite and Watching You on the Hotter than Hell album. They play them in G and tune down but I have always liked playing in F#.After all these years, I'm still in awe of how much heavier a guitar sounds when tuned down a 1/2 step. I never knew those elementary transcriber/publishers were neglecting to inform the student to tune down the guitar.
