What guitar are you playing today?

I've never played that model/pickups before. How do you like it compared to your other PRS models?
It is a beauty but change the knobs back!
Can't change the hardware back. It has to be the twin to my 408. LoL!

It's different from any guitar and pickups they've ever made. My 509's pickups look identical, but it ends there.

The 3 way switch changes between "heavy humbucker" to "light humbucker" to "single coil" mode. HHB is thick as a brick and compressed. LHB is very similar to some hot P90's to low wind humbuckers. Single coil is just that since the pickups are actually 5 individual specially voiced single coils.

It is effectively a 6 string Swiss Army Knife...

I won't be selling any guitars, but that includes this one!

My newest guitar, received in trade for another great guitar, is a 2019 PRS Special SemiHollow Limited Edition. It sees its first gig (with me, anyway!) tomorrow night. I’ve been loving the great tone and versatility. I never really got what semihollowbody guitars were about, but I’m sure digging what this one does. Nearly 50 years of playing, and still learning there’s more out there! Reflections of FM9T/FC12 rig in the pickup…

I have one and it’s in my top two, in other words it’s always with me when I go to play, but may not necessarily be in my hands at the beginning of the night.

Last night it was in my hands later at night, in the last set. I was tired and wanted that guitar because I know it’ll do anything I think of.

I have four other PRS, and they’re all wonderful guitars, but this is the one I grab at happy hour or when I’m noodling or fiddling with chords. It’s just a sweetheart. I love my DGT, but this guitar has me so that I’m going to switch the DGT to lighter gauge strings just to see how it feels.

Anyone who wants a semi-hollow should look at this model. It’ll cover a lot of bases.

So, I mentioned my PRS Semi-Hollow above, but I also took my Xotic XSC-2 with me last night for the opening set.

I haven’t had much time with this particular guitar. I had the same model previously, and ran into a weird resonance every fret up the neck on the high E that my tech and the factory couldn’t figure out. Xotic eventually replaced that guitar with the same spec’ed guitar, which I think dropped from 10s to 9.5s and adjusted then took to my tech and he gave it a quick further touch up, and I’ve been tentatively playing for a week watching to see what would happen.

So, last night I took it out, and it was amazing. It’s super responsive, really comfortable, and the pickups sound old. I have two other Strats and this just became that #1. I need to break it in further but this is definitely a keeper.

Yes, I’m several months in now and the SSH has completely won me over. I’m on a mission now to sell some gear and get a second one so I have two onstage. I’m cooking up so many song-specific tones with it that I’d hate to have to ditch them with another style guitar! The pickups on the LE version from 2019 have been quite the revelation, and the lighter weight of the semihollow body is welcome. It’s a winner!

Yep! I still have my retirement gift from my wife, signed by Paul "To Will. Happy Retirement. Paul Reed Smith".

I just love that guitar!
Y'all trying make me buy one? You doing areal good job! Just keep going. That's all purdy! Buddy been on me for two years to get one, and he still doesn't have one....think I'll beat him to it, and the 10 Tops are just beautiful. And enhances the tone too.
