Just checking that the FW10 process all completed successfully? Did you RANF (Refresh After New Firmware), after the above has been done?

It helps to load a blank/empty preset into the FM3 before doing any of the above. That way, the FM3's CPU only has to concentrate on the upgrade process.

How exactly did you load the new Presets - did you drag Banks A, B, C into the FM3 via the Preset Manager, or push in via Fractal Bot?

This video shows a good way of doing in ... instead of dragging in a recent backup (which you should do before this anyway, and this is a way to restore your own presets above slot 384 - eg your own Bank D!), you drag in the new Factory Presets.

Hi yes I did RANF, and attempted to load the presets via FractalBot. The first time it seemed to go through but everything was blank in FM3 Edit. Then when I tried it again, I started getting "No Response Received" timeout errors (the upload seems to take a very long time). I'm working with support now, but the FM3 appears to be recognized via USB on my Mac.

Quick update - after rebooting both my Mac and FM3 the presets completed their upload. It took about 50 minutes - is that typical?

Glad to hear this has progressed ...

It took me about 10 minutes to load the latest Factory Presets into my FM3T and save them all under the latest FW10, using the method in the video I linked to (as distinct from pushing them in via Fractal Bot).

I’ve been enjoying a lot the SLO 088 after the update. Very nice tones in an amp that, before this update, wasn’t on my radar.

Now I’m finding myself trapped in the 5153 100w… never bonded with the 5150 family’s on the fm3 before. Where these family of amps also improved with the update or my hearing is improving/worsing?

Anyway, just a reminder of what a great device the fm3 is with its constant improvement.

I like all the amps and can use pretty much any of them for my purposes, but Express was always one of my favorites, and now it is.. just "wow". Stunned by what I hear and feel!

Can anyone compare the virtual capo from FW 9 to FW10? How is the tracking\latency?

I'm not sure if there's much of a difference between the last beta and FW10.0, but when I installed the last beta the latency seemed to be less.

It's after midnight here, so I'll have to check it in the morning.

Seems normal to me, I was just playing a step down for a bit. The release notes said nothing about the VC so I wouldn't expect any difference.

I installed the firmware and instantly recongnized less CPU usage on my old FM3.

I feel the opposite, something's wrong with that amp. I came from FW 6.00 (yeah, I know... I was happy but need gappless switching ) and always use it as my main "marshallish clean-to-mean" type of amp but now when used with "Eternal Love" pedal (for lead tone) the amp clips but in a bad way. Now its sound "intermittently" when you hit hard, for example, with a palm mute. It's very strange.
I tried it with another drive and the same thing happens... it's like a clipping that cancels out the distortion. Soft reset has been applyied and all... Now I'm testing the Friedman HBE V2, sound very similar for that "clean-to-dist".

Some ideas: 1) Turn down the treble. The real amp does that too. 2) Try the FAS Wreck.

Sounds like a "Bit Crusher" when you push a little the amp... even if I use the "Esoteric RCB" without gain . If I remove the drive pedal and put the amp gain in 5-6 the problem appears too. If I pass the "threshold attack" with my picking the note cuts in an strange way.

today I played a bit with the VCA FB Sustainer. When switching to knee type "hard" the unit stops to output any audio signal - and no chance to recover - the unit stays alive and operable but no sound at all even after changing the preset. Only power cycle brings back sound.
This issue is reproducable. Each time I switch to knee type "hard" this happens.

Is this a confirmed bug? Or only on my unit/setup/preset?

Hi!,
I'm sorry if this was already asked, I have updated the last firmware version, prior to this update I have added presets and rearranged them all in different positions but I don't know if I now update the last version of Presets will I loose my current configuration of Presets.
PS: I'm quite new with the fm3 so my question could be not correctly formulated

I don't know if it's a known issue as I haven't seen this specific issue reported.

What does "don't work" mean?

Good idea to try it on other presets aswell !
result: yes, it happens on others aswell. I took a empty preset and just dropped a minimum blocks inside plus the compressor "VCA FB sustainer" and switched to knee type "hard" and it happened again. Coincedantly I had the meters page open and it looks like this in the moment of "crash"



Maybe that helps a bit ?

Tuner still works and also the meters in the "meters view" untill the compressor block, but after compressor all block meters remain red.
