FM9 Firmware Version 9.02

Thank you, this helped a lot! Seems to get closer to what I want rather than having to mess with mids/trebles everywhere. On the factory presets that I like (6160), I'm noticing they have aggressive high cuts in the preamp filter already set.

If I set a high cut on the cab preamp filter, is it the same as setting it identically for all loaded IRs/DynaCabs?
Yes, it is applied to the blend.

I've always wondered about the difference between setting low+hi cuts and their slopes in the Cab menu vs the Preamp menu in the Cab block. Thank you for clarifying.

The reference to all presets means no sound on any other preset once the issue begins
In other words I switch presets but problem persists
I only looked at meters on input and output blocks and they had signal
Tuner worked on startup and then when I went out of tuner no sound out of speakers
First thing I was doing prior to noticing issue was using tuner at initial startup of unit which is pretty much what I always do
It happened 3x so far since 9.02 never happened before
Thanks for looking at this I appreciate it
Thanks for clarifying.

If it happens again, try to check the Meters view as I mentioned to help narrow the issue.

Others experiencing this can do the same.

The new firmware and the presets updated for 9.02 are coming across as quite bright to me. They don't sound brittle, just brighter. Hearing it on the 1959SLP Treble, Brit 800, and a few others (admittedly very treble-oriented amps). Feels like it could be any one/multiple of: sensitive to treble/mids today, not used to new firmware, not realizing how much treble guitar has, developing a preference for darker/warmer cabs, or my guitar/pickups are bright (Ibanez S6521Q w/ Tone Zone). Monitoring with HD600's.

Dropping tone to 8 or so on guitar helps some.
I noticed something similar, particularly with my Marshall presets like the 6CA7. (But didn’t notice this on the new factory presets, they all sounded great)
For me, it was the result of a change to the bright cap after the soft reset. It defaulted to a maximum setting of like 5000 pico farads, (I believe.) Anyway it was easy to just dial that back to what I had which was significantly lower like 250 or less, and it sounded great, like my old preset again. This was the only thing that I noticed had changed to a different value.
Hope this helps.

So since lots of people are having issues with this firmware there should be a 9.03 version coming out soon right? I'm just asking since I'm still in 9.01 and maybe I sould wait for everything to get fix and skip 9.02.

I don't see "lots of people having issues". In fact, I don't see anyone having a single issue outside of a few cases of misunderstanding the Soft-Reset feature.

Lot of practicing at home, redefining a few presets, and one rehearsal yesterday, sounded gorgeous!!! Tomorrow the first gig with this FW.
Only issue I have had is that when I swapped scenes in FM9-Edit sometimes the scenes were overwritten by one of both, thus it seemed to behave as copy in stead of swap. And, yes, I am blonde, but I have checked a few times, and I DID click on swap :p

If you can provide steps to reproduce you should create a bug post or add to the FM9-Edit thread.

Unlikely this is firmware related since scene swap only exists in the editors.

I know it must be editor related, FW is fine! I am figuring out a way to reproduce it and post it in the editor topic, no problem. Since it seems to happen random I think the only way to reproduce it will be to make a movie. This weekend is occupied with a gig, training for the 4 day march (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) and preparing a strategy session, so it will be next week. But as stated the FW is gorgeous 😎💪

Restore your presets from the backup you took before upgrading...
Yes I did a complete restore (system files, presets) but unfortunately all my presets were still screwed up. I actually tried it twice!
I'm not a newbie to Fractal I go back to AXE-FX II (2012 ish) but this is new territory for me. Never once did I have an issue with Firmware upgrades Axe-Fx II or my FM9

Can you elaborate?

That doesn't really make sense. A backup is a backup. After restore they will be exactly what they were before.

Assuming you also rolled back firmware?

Maybe not for this version firmware, but actual question: where is Compressor type "Studio FF Compressor" now? I can't find it by this name and

i can't find any info about it renamed.

Did you execute the swap in Scene Manager? Or through the menu?
