Which Focusrite do you have? If it has a SPDIF input, then you can have your all digital solution. And will likely have less latency than using usb.

I've been using spdif connections since my ultra days. Works great unless you reamp.
My Focusrite is a very old 2i2. It doesn't have a SPDIF input but i'm liking this idea a lot! Never used it before but will definitely look into it. Thanks!

is the firmware taking this long because of the macos problem or are the two things unrelated ?

I've been unable to run the newest beta without major crashes. I made a thread about it. I've had to go back to a stable version. All the presets I made with the beta are no longer working.

i cannot understand why some have major crashes all the time and some (also me) have the 9.02 beta 3 running stable since Jan 21.

I had no crashes with 9.01. Then had no crashes for a while with 9.02. I was able to create quite a few presets and be happy for a long time. Then the crashes appeared out of nowhere. I rolled back to 9.01. Still crashes. Now I'm back to 9 with no crashes. You probably know this so I'm not trying to 'preach to the choir', but software bugs don't follow 'common sense' rules.

My guess is that we created presets from scratch without "porting" issues from other user presets.. (cpu spikes? controllers?)
The only time I was facing crashes was before the gapless release, as I was relying a lot on controllers... once I removed the controllers on the amps and drives everything was fine.
So my guess (and I repeat "my guess") is that the ones facing problems are the ones using controllers / midi / pedals / in the scene change.
I guess (no need to repeat I guess) is that the spikes on the cpu are not foreseen and so you may think your preset is safe (while it isn't)

Guess count: 5

I have my Fm3 for 2 years now, to my recollection the unit only crashed one time. And I install every single beta, never miss one.

But you might be into something, because I also do my presets from scratch and very rarely I use other people's presets (I much more fond of block effects lists and ideas from other people than complete presets).

That said I use the Mvave midi chocolate with the unit and I also have no problems whatsoever. It as been a really solid experience for these last two years.

With FM9, FW 9.0 released I guess this means the Apple bug was fixed ?
The USB Apple bug is its own issue and not necessarily dependent on firmware. It may come as a fix through firmware at some point.

This bug is not just islolated to Fractal products. It has caused a lot of Keyboards/synths to to go wonky for people using Logic with latest OS and USB.

I'm with you. I've had 1 crash and it was specifically due to loading a corrupted IR. I run all the betas, never had an issue. That said, my demands are relatively simple and I don't have a habit of pushing presets to the very limits.

hi, with the latest firmware my FM9 is aligned with the latest firmware of my AxeFx3...
But here I don't see any information about the compressors (for my use, the most interesting and important thing).
Reading the various posts in this discussion I didn't find any information.
Does anyone from the beta testing team know anything about it? No new comps for FM3?
Thanks.

We are all PATIENTLY awaiting the latest firmware (be it BETA or Official) for the FM3 which hopefully will have all that snazzy stuff you are referring to.
