Hi,
I am considering to buy a fm9. I play in a country band and need anything from classic twangy clean tones, to more modern country tones. Seems hard to find any youtube videos on that subject, any one in this forum that have experince with these tones for fm9?

I mean I don’t want to sound like a knob, but I just treat the amps and cabs in my fractals the same way I treat the physical world amps and that usually gets me most of the way there, for what ever tones I am needing to cop. Plus I use a hpf and lpf in the cab block.

Yeah. No problem getting those sounds. Fractal shines in the edge of breakup range. Awesome.

This vid shows tones that I think would be great for country. You could use the same methodology for a Vox/Matchless version as well.

Use a Class A type amp, FAS Class A i what i use for everything up til modern country. Modern I use the friedman BE. Stay to one cabinet or else youll feel a real sharp shift in tone, as you would if you had two combo amps with different speakers. I use the 4x12 TV cab.

Friedman BE for...country? Is that what the kids are doing these days?

Just get it, there is so much tone available to you in the Fractal universe that if you look around the Forum and on YouTube it's there in spades. It just takes a bit of time and research and you'll get more than what you require.

In the realm of what i like to call "hick hop"....yeah. Depends on where you draw the line for country which has become a smeared camo in recent decades. Youll find some artists using 5150's.

I am gigging in a country cover band with the FM9 Turbo and a Fender FR12 (which looks like a Deluxe amp) ..... I created a preset using the a Fender Deluxe model that sounds very realistic and then simply added scenes with drives and various effects like phase, chorus and tremolo ..... very very pleased. The videos linked above will help you. One tip that I used (among many) that made it feel right.... add a compressor after the cab block. Don't think you will be disappointed with the FM9.

I play in a cover band that does 60s through today's music in a huge variety of styles. My FM9 tones are clean with a little hair....with overdrive/solo options that would work perfectly for country. I tend to use a Super Reverb model with a matching cabinet. As said above, just assemble what you'd use with regular gear.

I get your concern....it seems every Fractal video on YouTube is some dude shredding and the "clean" tones have over the top effects.
Rest assured, you can dial in traditional guitar tones.

We’re not a country band per se but do play some country songs. I’ve been using the AC20 paired with the AC20 dynacabs. The only weird thing I do is use a 412 speaker curve since it sounds better to me. Yesterday at practice I used it for almost everything.
