Fair enough, however, all my presets were previously saved with version 9.02. Certainly it is not the intent that all presets will need to be resaved with every update.
But i don't understand why i have to do it now which each new firmware? I don't have to do the saving process with the actual AxeFX III firmwares, so why is this behaving different?
I didn't create the logic so I can't tell you the intent... But I did question this a while back on the private beta team and never got a clarification, so I assume it's intended.

It behaves the same across the devices...

I hated this firmware!

Because of it now I have GAS for a Ibanez Mostortion! Guess I’ll have to find a cheaper clone.

Now I see what’s all the fuss about this pedal, it’s really cool sounding.

Thanks FAS team for another great update! 🙏

And now you have version 9.03, which has more/newer stuff! This is what prompts the re-save logic ...

No, I don't have 9.03 and neither do you. We still have a beta version of 9.02.

I guess I'm seeking confirmation from someone at Fractal. @m_brown Is it Fractal's intention for every minor update to trigger the need to resave every preset?

@unix-guy said he asked this same question in private beta and did not get an answer.

This is not a bug - it is by design ...

It lets you know that the Preset has not yet been saved under the latest firmware. You'd need to save under the latest to make use of (some of) the new features, otherwise the Preset remains as it was saved under the last firmware.

Use your ears to tune to taste, and/or do a bulk save of all Presets to make this go away. Once some (or all) Presets are saved under the new firmware, the Preset number is no longer greyed out.

I always back up everything before and after a firmware update - this gives a roll back path if anything undesirable happens.

:)
Do I need to reset the amp block on all presets to remove the highlighted numbers?

I only mentioned the amp block because updating the amp block via the Manage Presets function is one way to automate re-saving all of the selected presets. Don't take my post as insulating that there is a need to update the amp block with this FW version. Sorry to confuse things.

There may be other ways to automate updating all of the presets.

I switched the Dyna-Cab to Legacy in FM3-Edit 1.07.06. Immediately after that, the sound disappeared in all presets.
Starting from the AMP block, everything is red. Rebooting fixed the issue, I couldn't reproduce it again.
The meters showed this:

That's essentially a "crash"...
