FM3 Firmware Version 9.02 public beta (3)

This is beta firmware. We don’t know that’ll be the case for non-beta.

Besides, there’s a function in the system menu that makes this trivial.
Maybe it's because it's beeeeeta, but refresh all presets in utilities does not correct the inverted preset number. Only saving does (which i thought the refresh utility did).

I switched the Dyna-Cab to Legacy in FM3-Edit 1.07.06. Immediately after that, the sound disappeared in all presets.
Starting from the AMP block, everything is red. Rebooting fixed the issue, I couldn't reproduce it again.
The meters showed this:

I had that happen not long ago, same thing with the meters. With my FM3 I have had multiple crashes since new, none of which were repeatable. A few times resulted in dimed volume out of control noise. It’s not often but I have to wonder if the FM3 is more crash prone compared to the higher powered units. If you were using Ultrares IR’s maybe the cpu spike caused it? I try to stay below 75% on my worst channels.

Nobody said that it would.

What iaresee said is the there's a function to quickly resave all the presets.

What firmware version did this happen in?

As someone who reported similar issues I should probably comment that none of my presets use Ultrares IRs.
Same for me, and using the higher powered unit FM9 btw. Have occasionaly had the silenced output like @Anton Karelin, and also the out of control noise like @skolacki. My CPU levels were nowhere near the risk zone. So it is not specific for FM3. Hope to get something reproducable one day ;)

I want to share an idea with you (@Chromatizm, @skolacki, @Anton Karelin): in situations i am trying to reproduce bugs i sometimes start OBS Studio or the Windows Game Bar (Windows key+G), and record for as long as necessary the specific window. I just found out that also works for FM-EDIT.
So if you regularly run into unreproducable trouble, you could make a recording from when you start to use FM-EDIT and hope you'll run into the bug situation. If nothing happens, delete the recording and try again next day.

my first FM3 issue ever!

upgraded yesterday, then went to practice,
booted up,
while booted, messed around with the IEM setup... got everything working
except no guitar
No sound from FM3 - inputs showing movement
double checked all cables and power to pedals
reboot fixed it

can't reproduce again. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I know it's beta of course :)

Rolling back to beta 2. I had a couple instances of the audio shutting off for several seconds with this firmware. Both on same preset with about 76% cpu usage. Once when I went to engage the wah and once when I left the unit for about 10 minutes and came back.

After behaving for a couple of months, my FM3 muted output during the last set of last night's gig. I had replaced the filter block with a shunt & thought it had solved the issue. Actual FW 9.02pb2. I love this thing but my confidence in it is shattered. I might go back to an analogue board for a while.

No issues at all at the show this afternoon after rolling back to beta 2. I've been gigging beta 2 since it came out without any problems. The issue with audio shutting off only happened for me with this latest 9.02 b3 version.

I don’t think Fractal or the FM3 is to blame for that. It’s beta firmware. Not a stable release

exactly this. I had a muted output issue with b3 as well. but I'll just roll back to b2 for our show on 2/8 (unless there's an update that says it's been fixed)... no biggie! this is beta

I realize this might feel like piling on but this is maybe a learning moment for others as well. Public betas will potentially have more issues than stable releases. It's "use at your own risk". If you're a gigging musician who needs a solid platform and the FM3 is your platform, don't use beta firmware. Period.

Yep, fair enough on the beeta. It's been happening since fw 9.01 (first crast was 12th Oct). At that time I added a filter block & removed the wah w/envelope follower modifier. It crashed almost every gig until I replaced the filter block with a shunt on 30th Nov as detailed here. No more crashes until 2 days ago. Although previous crashes the audio would still be metering (front panel LEDs) with no audio output, this time there was no metering.

Gigging 2 nights a week, every week, different venues.

Not trying to be argumentative, just hoping to improve the product.

Cheers!
