Definitely understand what you’re saying. I guess this is a lesson in “you can’t take it with you” but it does leave me bummed seeing some of his loved gear unceremoniously up for sale. Sure does make me miss him.

I was looking through everything. I wonder if an average joe would have a chance at anything. A couple of the Ibanez guitars seem in good condition and would be cool to bid on. Those Marshall monitor wedges with flight cases were sort of interesting to me. Loaded with greenbacks!
 
Guitar porn that includes a porn guitar! I knew I recognised it and sure enough the lot notes reveal the story. For anyone who doesn't know, Stella Street was an awesome late night absurd comedy sitcom. Short, quick fire episodes from the dying embers of classic British comedy, IMO. Most characters portrayed would be recognisable to most people, some maybe not. Jimmy Hill anyone? It's all up on Youtube. Some here might appreciate it.

Beck: "No, Ibanez designed them for me, and they kept sending me these experimental models. They don't take the same one away and modify it: they just build another one and send it. So I've got hundreds of Japanese men standing outside my front door with these black cases[laughs]... So I've got a lot of Ibanez guitars at home."
