Well this thread has been educational. I now know what the next product will be:
16 Analog I/O
Four mic preamps
Ethernet
Wifi/Bluetooth
Touchscreen
No touchscreen option
Somewhere between 0 and 36 footswitches
Effects, amp models, captures, 10 second IR support
Smaller than a deck of cards
$3.50 (tree-fiddy) retail
Well at least SOMEONE knows.... ;)

Yeah unless this new UI is because it's an FX only unit so it just fit the purpose better
They'd likely want to work out a few of kinks and garner some feedback in a unit with (presumably) simpler unit that has less sales before incorporating it into the primary products. Just guessing though.

Fractal is the king of modeling so there is no reason to add capturing functionality to this new machine. It would be a non sense.
market share? Capture-to-settings :D - listen to input amp and automatically dial a pre-defined amp to match the incoming sound.

On completely unrelated note, I just had, for the first time ever and without much forethought, the impulse to heat up a buttered pan and fry me some leftover apple pie. Good idea or not?

I think the result would be better in an oven where the pie is getting heated evenly. I happen to be sitting here studying for my first term practical and final in culinary school. Unfortunately, baking doesn't come until the 2nd year so I'm replying on instinct. Wonder which will happen first - my culinary arts degree or the new product release??? Both will be soon.

Yesterday's oven adventure did not yield the even results that you describe, but I firmly attribute that to user error. And a wonky oven. (Pie: Burnt backside down below, front was semi palatable, but the burnt aroma had already tainted most of the streusel-topped filling...)

Mash it up into a pie patty? Fry it crispy in a butter lake on a rolling boil, and spread some peanut butter and cherry jam on top. Let it cool. Fever dream or reality within reach? Semi-serious...

Gawd this waiting around... And I don't even want this new device, I'm 100% sure, but I just wanna know. In the meantime: Pie.

Bummer. Yep, sounds like your oven doesn't heat evenly. If you have a convection switch, use that and reduce your temp by 25 degrees. Otherwise, make a note to always turn your oven dishes half way through cooking. Good luck.
