I thought we were talking about Fractal Audio-excuse my mistake! The hx effects, plethora, eventide h90, the Meris LVx... etc all are doing well. What were you saying again?
I'm an amp guy and I'm incredibly hopeful this is a great fx unit, because fractal gets effects, routing, and editing in the right way that works best with my process and how my mind works. I bet I'm not alone.
Speaking from a personal standpoint, I have a lot of pedals I already like and will use, but want to add fractal to my board as well. I will never use modeling. I don’t like modeling. I don’t like fiddling with that stuff. I want great effects, a nice Strat, into a Mesa California Tweed. Without having to program it.I thought we were talking about Fractal Audio-excuse my mistake!
You know if it an FX unit I hope for Fractals sake it sells. I just don't think it will.
If it is that's great for you and the other amp guys. Why you don't see the benefit, especially to FRactal, for a combination of the FX8 tech and the FM tech is beyond me.
Actually also for the amp guys. You have a backup at your feet plugged in and ready t go.
Jeeezzzz!

What's the over/under on the product announcement vs. the 100 page mark race? We’re only 16 pages shy of![]()
The FX8 is just massive. It never appealed to me because I have to run a bunch of cables back and forth to the amp and it takes up space. I played a G System live for a while and carrying around a massive pedalboard is not my cup of tea.I thought we were talking about Fractal Audio-excuse my mistake!

I'd say the odds on the announcement being first are very low, the way this thread as bloomed the last few days. What's the over/under on the product announcement vs. the 100 page mark race?

I absolutely love a smaller form factor. Right now I have a MC8 controlling my Road King 2 with an H90 in the loop, and it's great. If Fractal ever came out with an H90 or HX effects-sized device that could run 4CM, I could ditch any other pedals, just run my MC8 to my amp and sit the fractal unit on top of the amp. Technically you can do this now with the FM3, but I didn't like the converters on the FM3 with my amps. YMMV, and I think an all-effects fractal unit would absolutely kill. If it has Fractal overdrives and gates in it, I'd be very pleased with it.

That's coming.#PushFor1000
I seriously doubt that... But not sure what that has to do with "FM0" that you mentioned, which is what I was replying to.If it has the power of FM9 in a lighter case, it could fit my needs!
The problem is that it seems to have so few connections in the back panel...![]()
Since it isn't released, how can you know the weight?and weighs x2.5 the weight of these 2 pedals together
It's 3u, not 2uAm I wrong or do some people think that Fractal put the Axe FX 3 in a 2u rack enclosure for some reason other than the desired capabilities demanded a space of that size? If they couldn't fit that functionality into an FM9, how can they fit it into something the size of the Tonex One?

The amp modeling requires a lot of DSP...I don't see the value to Fractal to not add (some of) the amps they have in their software library. It's not without some (small) cost to add it (but they should be setup for that with their current, diverse product line), but possibly it's easier to include amps and have one less difference between the shared codebase.
I don't see any deep benefit beside avoiding cannibalizing sales of other Fractal products or the ability to use cheaper, lower end CPU/DSP.
If there are no amps in the product, they turn away a good percentage of people who would never use an effects only box ... especially one that big or expensive. They leave the door open to Line6 to capture those people in pedalboard market and sub $1K price.
