Well... Neural has released the Nano Cortex, which I plan to incorporate into my FM9's signal chain, but I'm waiting to see what product they'll bring to market before I spend my money.
 
I would love a pedalboard friendly (small) box that would let you load just 1 amp block and 1 cab block from your Axe FX/FM. It should let you bypass the cab block and power amp modeling for use with an amp & speaker. Throw in Bluetooth for simple edits from your phone.

Pretty much a high tech distortion box with great cab modeling.

I would throw that right into my jam-rig’s pedalboard. I have a Mesa Nomad 2X12 combo that I use as a pedal platform amp for small jams or for friends to use when visiting, currently using a Tight Rock Pro.

1 (possibly 2) stereo I/O. 1 MIDI I/O. 1 unpowered FAS Link. Two switches, 5 mini-knobs, tiny screen or possibly no screen (all editing done via USB and an editor). Super downsized grid (maybe 5x3 or something). Supports only one block of a limited set of blocks (amp/cab/drive/wah/chorus/delay/verb, maybe a couple others).

No need for anything crazy novel, just the same tones we already know and love in an ultra-compact format that can re-use a bunch of the same code for firmware and editing.

I likethat idea, except maybe ...

"unpowered FASlink" - so you'd have to use a separate power supply to run an FC?

I put my money on FAS Flatulence pedal which is an advanced modeler based on Fart pedal. Like the original, it has the dry and wet mode, but in addition, this one has the ability to blend in wet mode into dry giving you infinite variety of sonic goodness.

I also heard from reliable sources that they are working on Turbo Ultra Messy (code named ‘TUMmy’) mode to be released via firmware update. This one is based on an employee (whose name is not disclosed, let’s call him Hank) who spent too much time at Taco Bell. Hank is expected to give you that much coveted arse-in-the-room feel without the olfactory side effects.

Regardless, If Cliff made it, it will be a great product. Also, great way to keep the dialog alive and anticipation for quite a few weeks now. 52 pages of speculation.
