same makes me want to get a friedman and a mesa dual rec and some drive pedals

….For display (if i had the money lol)

(the axe is just too fast , amazing and convenient to use)
Yep, I do have a Marshall DSL40 Combo. I intend to sell it and get Friedman BE-50 Deluxe and eventually a Synergy with a few different modules. However, won’t be selling my FAS gear!

I still have my amps and cabs along with 3 Fractal units, a couple of Digitech floor units (3 and 3000), so on, and so on, and so on.

I learned a long time ago to not sell off my gear. I'm not a collector, but I could have been with some of the stuff I sold in the past. Chalk a couple of them up to serious regrets.
I never base what I’m doing today on what I may be doing tomorrow. That is why I do not flip gear I like. You never know what you’ll need in a couple of years, or even in a couple of weeks.

I find myself constantly switching back and forth, recently got an FM9 and have been using that in front of my tube amps. The hardest thing about moving to pedals is the fractal workflow is far superior, I've been hooked on the workflow since my fx8 back in the day. I don't recommend selling anything you might just end up buying it again. The fractal line is great and tube amps are great too both have advantages and disadvantages just follow your inspiration lots of great tools around these days.

I think this is exactly why Dave Friedman allows Cliff to use the real names for his model amps. Dave thanks the modeling sounds good enough to entice somebody to buy his amps. And he is right.
Funny you say that, I’ve been wanting to get a friedman lately…

I bought my AxeFx3 with the idea that it would help me narrow down the choices of what "real world" amp(s) and pedals I want to complement/replace my JCM800 2203 and Boss SD-1.

Once I got an AxeFx3, FC-6 and EV-1 I decided that tube amps and pedals were not worth the cost, size and bother. I love the variety, flexibility and compactness of Fractal. Sold my beloved JCM800.

To each their own, but I don't have any plans to buy any amps or pedals.

Currently I am playing through HS7 studio monitors or headphones. Once I add a FRFR (to play live with others) I expect I am done for gear.

I just went through this twice IN ONE YEAR! We moved to Montana (from Texas) in Aug 2020, then back to Texas in Sept 2021. I never unpacked any of my music gear while in MT, but still. That sh!t is HEAVY!
I wrapped 9 100w heads, I have 40 some odd guitars going, 2 hard cased pedalboards about 4’ long, a 20 space studio rack, a zaor desk and a whole slew of other shit that is just too much to list. I retired on Friday and I don’t think I’ve worked this hard in quite a few years.

My compassion for your plight is, uh, somewhat limited :)

Seriously though that's a lot of work.

Totally. I’m perpetually covered in dusty basement, too. I’m 49 going on 89 and some of this stuff was HEAVY to get upstairs for the movers. A mesa MKV in a rolling hard case weighs about the same as a small car it seems.
