Does anybody know how the "Gain I" control works on a technical level with this amp? I've been reading the amp's manual, and while it's clear that the "Gain II" control simply increases preamp gain, the exact function of the "Gain I" control is a little more vague.
The opposite ends of the knob are labeled Crisp and Thick, but I'm curious what that means, specifically.
-Does the knob control a treble-boosted gain stage that, when it's turned up, heads into clipping until eventually the lows are clipping just as much as the highs?
-Is it a tilt EQ?
-Is it a pre-distoriton bass EQ knob, similar to a Mesa Mark series bass knob?
Does anybody here know?
