FM3 Firmware Version 4.00 beta 1

Yeah I think I'm done here, they all sound muffled and I did reset amp blocks too with no Improvement sad day for this customer
They sound less cutting than before for me. I've had to add some additional EQ I didn't require before. But the end result is certainly better for me than latest Ares.

Yes exactly, I did mess with the Marshall Austin Tweaked in the Gold pack and I got it sounding good but man I did a ton of work getting to a usable tone ugh

Not in the release notes, but it looks like we got a new Deluxe Tweed Jumped model, and proper modeling of the volume control interaction in the non-jumped model. I don't think that was there previously, unless I missed it (quite possible). Maybe it was added in the previous beta? Regardless, this is a nice addition for fans of the 5E3!
I did a couple samples of the 5E3 on this thread....

Fairly new FM3 owner here. I finally got to spend some serious quality time with the beta tonight and Holy Crap - why didn't anyone tell me how good the Atomica sounds? I just get lost into playing this tonight (based off one of the AustinBuddy presets). This may be my new favorite amp - so far!

Out of curiosity , do most of you stick with the beta and run with it until the actual release of 4? Or do you just test it out go back to the 3.02 and wait for the official release?
I’ve used several fractal products over the years and this is the first time I’ve hopped in on a beta release. So far I’m pretty darn happy!

During the Cygnus beta on the FX3 I bounced back and forth between Cygnus and Ares 15.1 many times testing different things. It doesn’t take a lot of time to do a backup or restore of your presets and change the firmware. Some days I’d do it several times. The big issue is that Ares won’t know what to think about Cygnus presets so you have to keep them straight.

So far I haven’t seen anything in Cygnus on the FM3 that makes me want to revert, which I think is because Cygnus was mostly tamed during the FX3 push. Now it’s the functionality that is exclusive to the FM3 that seems most likely to have problems and so far mine has behaved.

I really appreciate your reply. I thought I had backed up my fm3 ares but it appears I was wrong. I’m on the beta now. Luckily I just got the fm3 so I only had about 3 basic presets. So if I have to go back to ares I’ll just have to rebuilt them and re add all my IRs.

Not sure I've seen this answer yet. I'm wondering about loading Axe III presets on my FM3. Am I correct in thinking I can load them and then deleting blocks to get the CPU levels to something the FM3 can handle? i.e. only using one amp block...... TIA

If the beeta doesn't give me problem, I stay. :)

Im going back to ares for now. Going to Cygnus messed with all my go to presets and made me realize that my skills/ability to edit and dial in tones is just not there yet. I will just have to wait until others post great presets (or I buy them). For the record, I do like the tones I am hearing, but need to invest time on how to get the best tone out of these and manipulate them in time for my next gig. Luckily I backed them up (I only use like 6 presets total).

What about the Europeans with a 50hz power grid? Surely this creates different ghost notes. Can you add a parameter to switch between North American and European power grid?

Joking, of course.
There’s already a global setting for this, at least on the Axe Fx. It’s primarily used for the noise gate, but I think it may also affect the frequency of ghost notes.

Just got around to trying Cygnus CA3+ Lead with the stock Brit 70s GB cab. It is absolutely huge. Is this Cygnus or have I been missing out on the CA3+ this whole time?
