    2-Rawk & 2-Clean

Two patches for your amusement based on the J35 and PABJ35 models. I made two to draw a distinction between the clean and dirty potential, but they can be one or the other pretty much with the engagement of a Drive Block. Watch the video, you'll get the idea. Requires FW 25.02 or later. Thanks...

    Brilliant!

Thanks Dave. I'll pop up final releases today sometime. There are a couple of perhaps useful features buried in them that need demo vids to explain. Thanks for checking them out!
  3. Burgs

    Brilliant!

Here's a sneak preview of a couple of new ones I've nearly nailed. Both are based on the Two-Rocks. One's a kitchen sink type of affair and the other's my attempt at winding back the J35 so it's 'clean' - and then a set of scenes based on that. I'll try and put them to bed tomorrow with a demo...

    Brilliant!

Thank you, Gilesy. My 'style', if you could call it that, is just a mixture of blues, laziness and familiarity. I find it hard to pay attention to anything too technical for very long so I just improvise - a bit like flying a kite. Some things I'm OK at so I stick to them, but I'm also keen to...

    Deluxe! 25.02

A revision (thanks, Cliff!) of my favourite combo deserves a new patch, so here it is. I hope you can have some fun with it. http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=10959

    Brilliant!

I show them specifically at 2:07 in the vid.
  8. Burgs

    Brilliant!

Pushing 800Hz by a healthy 6dB or more, with a narrow 'Q', into the front of an overdrive or overdriven amp (Marshalls love it) will give you that nasally Boston tone. It's almost like a cocked wah (which is probably what Mr Scholz used in the first place).

    Brilliant!

I put up a couple of 'uncut' vids of me playing through all Scenes if anyone's interested. One vid with the Strat, the other with the Explorer. Warts and all..!

Not much. I turned off the comp in the SD-1+Halo Scene, that's all.
  12. Burgs

    Brilliant!

I wrote this one for myself, as a kitchen sink preset that I can use on stage, based around the recently introduced (and very excellent) Class-A 30W Brilliant model. It's an 8-Scene affair with clean, ambient and several different overdrive Scenes with appropriate satellite effects that can be...

  14. Burgs

    Brilliant!

I wrote this one as a sort of kitchen-sink preset for my own live use. It's built around the new AC30 Brilliant (which it certainly is). Eight Scenes of varying gain with a few different satellite effects and some different drive scenes. This began life in the Axe-FX III Turbo but easily ported...

Hi Chris. I have all of my touring cases custom built by Chris Hine at C&C Cases here in Melbourne. It sees about 50-100 flights per year and I've never needed to replace anything. It seems to be indestructible! See: http://www.pedalboardsbycaseman.com.au/fractalaudio.html

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

It depends on the amp model. I do this mainly with the SLP1959 or 2204. Both are gained at around 12 o'clock, both have minimal headroom at this gain level, but both clean up extraordinarily well with a Strat, its volume knob and some moderate output pickups. This reflects the real-world...
  19. Burgs

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

Not specifically, no. However I did recently write a bunch of presets for the FM9 that pretty much follow this concept. These let me switch amp types (via a preset change) and each preset is set up pretty much identically in terms of Scenes, scene order and on-call satellite effects. So if I...
  20. Burgs

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

I use cab IR's that I feel will give me a close real world authenticity. I could, as others do, use a common IR for all amp types, but again that defeats the purpose, to me, of having the different amp types on call. But we do have the choice and that's one of the joys of being a Fractal user...
  21. Burgs

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

If, for example, I'm running a Tele into a Marshall for some big rhythm crunch, supplemented by an 808 boost and a bit of delay for a solo, there may be occasions where the song will break down for a bit of lead-singer-banter or something. In those circumstances I might switch over to the Deluxe...
  22. Burgs

Using multiple amps and continuity between tones and frequency?

"...how do you guys manage different amps and tones sounding like they’re in the same camp so to speak?" My own kitchen sink presets generally feature 3-4 switchable amps, not too far removed from those you've chosen: 1959SLP, Deluxe Reverb, AC30, 2204. The main reason for switching between...

    GainBeasts 1 & 2.

Just for fun. Two patches, each with eight different (and randomly picked) fire breathers*, surrounded by (hopefully) complimentary effects. Voiced with a SD JB. There are two blended cab channels, A & B. "A" is smoother and more mid-centric thanks to the EV12L's. "B" is more classic rawk and is...

A few new patches and a layout for you to try.

I've simplified my Layout for gigging use. It works for me so I thought I'd share. All of the Effects switches have hold functions that either toggle or cycle through channels. While I was sorting out the layout, I made a few kitchen sink patches based on the usual rock amps so I've upped...

Ed, Stevie, Jimi & Howard... Demo, preset, free download, etc

Your experience with Ampero II Stage?

Scenes include on/off states AND settings for each block. So I could have Scene 1 with a clean amp, Scene 2 with a dirty amp and one OD to feed both with totally different settings for each Scene. That's a plus because the CPU runs out pretty quick if you're trying to build a kitchen sink...

Which single amp channel to do it all?

1959SLP Treble or Jumped for me. I let it see the DynaCab 1960TV and Rumble EV12L (adds headroom and a smooth midrange). Stick a Strat or Tele in front, ride the guitar's volume knob and engage an 808 boost as needed. Done.

    Live Levels

OK, the PRS is probably going to hit the front of those amps harder than the Tele I used to tweak these. Hopefully the 1-2dB in the Filter will be enough to help your leads cut through.
  39. Burgs

    Live Levels

I have no idea what guitar/s you're running or how much time you spend up the hero end of the guitar during your set, but I've had a quick crack at taming these for you, based on how I run my own stage presets. Just some level adjusts and a little less Filter boost. Hopefully it will help a little.

I must admit that I don't have much luck with GOT or other's presets either, which is why I like to write my own.
