Would you consider a quality multiple socket for your FM3/9?

I'm thinking to get a quality multiple socket with surge protection for my fm3. A small one to carry around everywhere! My experience is that nobody cares to protect your gear and electronic devices like the fm3 could be more sensitive to unstable power. I remember a failed live show due to spoiled beer in a power socket. What do you use? Am i overreacting? (As i don't use a rack system i wouldn't buy a furman or similar power supply.)

Since the FM3 has a switching power supply, it should be fine with unstable, ie fluctuating voltage as long as that voltage doesn’t go beyond the acceptable range and there are no surges like those from lightning strikes.

For overvoltage (ie if you get continuous 380 volts instead of 220 or whatever equivalent is in the US) those power strips won’t help.

For surges who knows. They supposedly offer some level of protection.

Nothing will help with power down from spilled beer.

Furman has a model that’s not rack mounted.

Lighting strikes is a common problem here. They easily find their way to the electric grid. Crystal audio power socket will cut the power if a continuous surge is happening.
  • 70dB protection against EM/RF Interference
  • Noise filtering for eliminating of signal distortion and protecting from data loss
  • Integrated filter for maximizing performance of your connected appliances and protecting from data loss
  • Ultra Fast response Metal Oxide Varistors (MOV) for disconnecting of the appliances when the mains voltage exceeds the specified limit
Offcourse i don't expect miracles.

My understanding is that the first 3 are redundant in this application, and I don’t know whether the 4th provides better protection than the FM3’s existing circuitry (either in the event of a lightning strike or a surge caused by something else).
