Yes....That option just sets which pedal controls the wah by default, it does not put "a wah effect" into the input blocks.

For that you could just plug in your preferred reverb into the insert loop.Along similar lines, it could be interesting to explore something like a dedicated reverb (or delay) on the output side. I think M@ has mentioned this concept before, though I’m sure that opens up an entire can of worms around CPU balancing and overall architecture.

That's a nice idea. I think most people could use a wah but aren't too particular about which wah. So dedicating a Wah block just to have one seems like a bit of a waste.
Indeed — but that kind of misses the point of diversity. While running a preferred wah into the input is certainly the easy workaround, I’d much rather have a single expression pedal that doesn’t need to be permanently dedicated to wah duties.And your preferred wah into the input.
