WISH : AX8+ w/separate reverb DSP/CPU [IMPLEMENTED (FM3/9)]

^ This

Enjoy the AX8 for what it is. Get an AxeII if it's not meeting your needs. Some day there will be an AX8 II, until then, I'm quite content with the AX8.

I'll preface my thoughts by first saying I have absolutely no idea how these systems work. I'm just spit balling. What if the end user, in his/her attempts to optimize cpu useage, could disable certain peripheral features that aren't used or needed.

For example if you use an external tuner could you turn off the internal one so that it won't use bandwidth when it's activated. Or the VU meters, etc.

I guess I'm thinking that each and every process in the unit has to have acces to at least some processing power for it to work.

Maybe a global setting feature set that gives you a list of stuff you can turn on and off and its impact on overall performance.

I realize that the overall impact might be negligible as I'm sure some of the aforementioned processes likely utilize very little processing power.

Discuss.
