Will wireless in ear monitors work as nearfield monitors?

I'm wanting to go FRFR and wonder if I could use a wireless IEM system in place of nearfield monitors.
Put another way will the IEM's be flat like the nearfield monitors? I'm looking at a QSC or Verve powered speaker for live use and figure I could use the IEM's for that too. If the IEM's are too colored I know it won't work.

I wouldn't recommend in-ear monitors for recording, mixing or mastering. They work well for live performance if the monitor mixer has experience mixing for ears.

They are fine for live work. Past that, no way IMHO. Right tool for live purposes, but I'd never choose them on purpose past that one application.

even mixing with headphones doesn't yield the best results. the air between the monitors and your ears really help to create the correct spacial environment for the listener.
