Will off-the-shelf CAT6 cables work?

...Axe-FX II --> MFC101? I have easy pickins a block away and wonder if a CAT6 cable would suffice with no alterations/soldering/singed plastic/etc?

You should be fine.
Only real difference between cat5 and cat6 is is in the transmission performance and bandwidth extension from 100 MHz to 200 MHz.

Yup, I use a vanilla 7-foot Cat 6 cable to connect my Axe-Fx II to MFC at home. As s0c9 points out, the only difference between Cat 5 and 6 is bandwidth, and that doesn't even come into play for this purpose.

While Surfer Rosa is undoubtedly an awesome album I believe this is a family and work friendly forum (?) while I'm not too bothered it could be an issue for some. Cheers.

Ahhhh!!! Now I can guess what you mean!!! Thanks.

Love Pixies, seen them many times back in the day... Thought there was some Pixie love in this thread... Then got confused...

Thanks for clearing that up.

what's more family friendly than breasts?

edit: don't mean to derail the thread though :) just sayin
