Wierd USB noise

Since upgrading to 5.04 I have some peculiar behavior with the USB audio feature. I plug headphones into the front of the Axe and direct my MAC to use the Axe for audio out, this way I can jam along with itunes etc and it has been fantastic thus far but after the upgrade whenever 2 sources play simultaneously I get static. Like clipping distorted static..., if I stop itunes my guitar sounds fine or if I stop playing my guitar itunes sounds fine but as soon as both are going its a garbled mess.

I haven't changed any settings on my Mac, just upgraded the Axe. Any ideas?

Probably unrelated, but I get max 1 to 2 blue screens a year on my XP SP3 PC.
Since installing the USB driver I've had 3 or 4 in the last few weeks only...

actually i've had a somewhat similar problem, i put a backing track in ableton, and record over it while it's playing through my computer monitors and the axe i'm monitoring through an external wedge. anyways i go to listen to the final recording and there is random static... D:
