Why does midi sent tempo fluctuate?

Song tempo is set to a definitive steady tempo, pick any arbitrary number for examples sake. In FM3 Edit I see the tempo jump around quite erratically plus or minus 5BPM or so of the selected tempo.

How do I make it NOT do this????

How are you getting tempo info to the fractal and from what app/program??
I’m using stagetraxx 3 on an iPad and sending Bluetooth to a widi jack.

I also use it mostly with stagetraxx - on an iPad, iPhone and on two Macs.

But the MIDI connection is wired - I use a Roland UM1 dongle, which is connected to a USB hub on my pedalboard. That USB hub is then connected to my devices.

All the time, during the whole song each time? Not impossible but not likely.

It is simply the tempo information in the song file so I assume midi clock.

Yea it is set to midi clock. There is a setting in the widi app I’m going to take a look at that may address this.

Midi clock will be wonky if the midi stream isn't consistent.

Doing it over wireless with Bluetooth probably isn't the best option.
