What to Expect With a Matrix Amp?

I'm picking up a Matrix 1600 this weekend and will be running my III through it into a few different 4x12s. Can any Matrix owners chime in and let me know what your experience has been with these amps and the Axe? I run the III into the return of my DSL100H right now, leaving the power amp on the III on (it sounds better to me with it on) and am pretty satisfied with the tone. I’m looking forward to having a more pure (in my mind) signal path and am wondering if I’ll see that much of a difference. Thanks.

Do a search. Tons of people use them. They’re great. Powerful, clean and reliable.

It will sound great, but it will also sound different if you don't retweak your presets, especially since you're running power amp sims stacked with power amp coloration of your DSL100H. I have the gt1600fx and I love it. I ran my Axe FXIII into my Mesa Mark V's return until I got a dedicated power amp. Haven't used the Mesa since.
