What Preamp's are you guys using in the Cab block?? or are you.

I use the bipolar for Marshally sounds if I want to add some grind and sizzle.

Vintage if I want more of a saturated transformer sound.

One of the tape sims if I am trying to blur the transients a little bit. These give the sound a little bit of splat to my ears.

Interesting to hear the different responses. is there a list of what these preamps were modeled after?

I think someone else asked this in an earlier thread, and Cliff's response was along the lines of: Don't worry about what they were modelled on, just pick one you like the sound of and create some cool sounds with it.

I've messed around with the various settings, but I maxed out on CPU with most of my go-to presets, so I've opted to not use this feature at all. It's more of a studio nuance thing anyway, and I'm mostly out playing live, so the potential benefit would likely be lost in the din.

I also dabbled with for a bit but the CPU usage ran me off. With the UR cabs, hi-res reverb and others I'm having to delete all kinds of blocks to keep it at 90%. Used to run two drives but a drive uses nearly as much CPU's as an amp. Had to dump one.

C'mon FX8!
