What is your setup for recording direct?

Mine is:

Guitar -> Cable -> (Front In) Axe-Fx (XLR Out 1 L & R) -> Yamaha 01v96 -> ADAT Lightpipe -> RME9652. The DAW sends word clock back to the 01V96.

I sometimes tap a dry signal via Axe-Fx output 2 and save it for possible re-amping.
 
Guitar->Cable->Pedal Board-> RC Booster always ON->Front in AXE FX with input at 2 o' clock ->

AXE FX XLR Main 1 out out to Apogee Duet-> IMAC -> whatever software using that day, Ableton Live or Garage Band... to a pair of FRF studio JBL powered speakers

(Also use I/O to copy Output 1 to Output 2 and use it with Atomic Powered Wedges, using output control, for bedroom level practice sound outside of studio monitors)

Hey Sensory Amusia I love your music! Have you been using the axe fx for your tracks coz they sound mental. What model from MOTU did you use for the interface?
