What drive/amp/cab would you suggest to get this tone
Hey all,
I am transitioning over to the Axe-Fx II from my Standard and am thinking about some new tones I would like to cop. I am a fan of Toad the Wet Sprocket and love the guitar tone on their Dulcinea and Coil albums. Specifically I love their chimey cleans and grinding drive tones. The best example is from Fly From Heaven (clip below). I love how the cleans chime until about 1:11 where you can hear the volume knob rolled up and that grinding sustain at 1:24. Love it!! There was a "Fly From Heaven" factory preset with the Gen1, and it really didn't hit the mark for me. I have never really attempted to cop this tone with the Standard, but would love to with the II.

So, any suggestions on where to start picking an amp, cab & drive? I read somewhere that Todd Nichols of TTWS uses a Matchless DC-30 and a Klon Centaur Drive? Not sure if that was on the Dulcinea album or not. Boutique or AC-30 TB? Or are there any other models that might get me closer?
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
