Hi everyone,
Even in South Korea, Fractal Audio's reputation for sophisticated and wonderful sound is great (at least to me).
I started with Fractal Audio Systems with the Ax8 model and am currently using the Fm3 MK2 Turbo. Complete freedom. I don't think any further expressions are necessary.
My favorite amp since Ax8 has been the Wrecker Express.
I love the sheer, sparkling feel of this amp with the SDD PREAMP drive boost at low gain, and I love playing
chewing riffs at high gain with the amp's additional 10-band EQ.
I have learned so much from this forum over the past 8 years and have received countless great lessons from you Fractal Gurus. Everyone, please keep making and playing the great music and Thank you.
first, anyone know if this amp is in the fm9? im not near my rig today. second, what is 'SIC'?Holy f***ing hell !! So I just found probably my most favourite new amp model !
Based on many users feedback, I loaded up Carol-Ann Tucana.
This model is pretty nice, especially with my fat sounding PRS Tremonti guitar, I really dig it.
But then guys, I loaded up Carol-Ann Triptik Modern and OMG
I compared this tone to my library of hi gain tonezz and I am flabbergasted !
I dialed it THE BEST hi-gain tone ever with my Lester which has pretty low output pickups (Jim Wagner WCR American Steele set).
thank you so much for suggesting Carol-Ann amps guys, I´m totally in heaven now
In case anyone would like to try what I dialed it :
Carol-Ann triptik modern :
Gain 4, overdrive 10, bass 5, mid 5, treble 7.5, presence 7.5, depth 1, master 5, output -10db
SIC : Load Box LB-2 UK
input EQ : frequency 1900hz +1db
output EQ set to Mark type : 80hz +1db, 240hz -1db, 750hz -2db, 2200hz +1db, 6600hz 0db
dynamics : input dynamics set to 3
IR : Legacy type, bank legacy no. 48 - 4x12 German Boutique, preamp low cut at 100hz.
That´s it ! Holy mother of cows ! Amaaaaaaazing /,,/
yes , sureLove that tone, right up my alley!
Any chance of you posting that preset on AxeChange?
Thanks.
Haven't really spent much time with the Triptik Modern, but had to try your settings because I've liked your tones before. And you weren't kidding, amazingly crushing stuff with only a few tweaks. Thanks for the inspiration!Holy f***ing hell !! So I just found probably my most favourite new amp model !

I've been messing with AC's and Matchless for a long time trying to get the sound I'm looking for. Then I was perusing this site and saw your note on the ODS. I tried it out and dang it hit right where I was trying to get the others to be. Thanks! The ODS-100 factory preset is great on stage. The "Ford" scene works wonderfully for blues, rock, pop all by controlling it from the guitar, and that particular model is supposed to be based on the schematic for Ford's Dumble. It'll go from clean to a clear and compressed sound just from the amp. IIRC, the master volume on it is sensitive so don't make big changes to it because it can get flubby, but turned up loud with a Strat, Tele, Les Paul or 335 it can sing and really responds.

Yek's write-up
Also check out the BludoJai and Fox amps.
Put the Zen Master drive before it for Ford’s tone. It’ll clean up using the guitar’s volume really well and sounds really nice with that amp.I've been messing with AC's and Matchless for a long time trying to get the sound I'm looking for. Whose settings are you referring to?Put the Zen Master drive before it for Ford’s tone. It’ll clean up using the guitar’s volume really well and sounds really nice with that amp.
Here’s a capture of his settings from his pedalboard when he was on That Pedal Show.
