Warmoth guitar bodies - top wood options?

This is interesting. I’ve never heard this. Is this something that is common or that you’ve experienced a lot? Is it due to the way Warmoth does stuff, or did you perhaps just have more of a dud neck?
I've bought maybe 3 necks with the 'modern' truss. They seem heavy and non-resonant.

And I hate that. I am all about better technology for guitars. I want a neck that is easier to adjust and is more precise. But don't take my word for it. It's just my limited experience.

It's kinda like my experience with the Ibanez ZR trem. It's a design that bypasses the flawed knife-edge Floyd problem...but has a real sustain issue.

Just my anecdotal experience.

Got ya! Is the modern truss rod the one where you can make adjustments at the headstock and at the bottom side part of the heel?

If so, have you ever tried their vintage/modern constructions which is just like a standard top adjustment?

I have an old one. Like 1994 neck that may be what they call now 'vintage modern' with no 'heel adjust' . It's better.

I have one left of the heel adjust. I think that is a 2 way truss rod. It has a wide floyd R4 with an EVH back profile. The feel of that neck is so cool...but again. heavy and dead..or maybe stiff and strident is a better way to describe it. There's also a ton of wood in the wider neck.

I'm no expert. Im just a guy that bought a handful of Warmoth necks/guitars hoping to find a cool combo that spoke to me. There's no way I could tell the difference on a recording between those and the guitars I love... only the way they feel and respond as I'm playing.
