Wah Wah Settings...share yours

One aspect that's easy to overlook when trying to copy a particular wah pedal is the pedal response. The mid setting in the attached frequency controller can be used to fine-tune the way the frequency peak moves from low to high. It can compensate for uneven response in the pedal your using, as well as in the pedal you're copying if it's an important part of the way it works for you.

If your pedal has a LINear pot it should be about right for wah with mid at 50%. If you use the same type of pedal for volume control, then the volume block itself has different log settings for good pedal response with volume.

But if you have a LOG pot in your pedal (which works well for volume control), chances are it will feel quite wrong with the wah block. Try boosting the mid setting to about 65% as a starting point to get more even wah pedal response.

Lower the mid setting in the unlikely event you have an ANTILOG pot (which can happen with pots installed backwards and certain types of electronic pedal position detectors).

The pot in a typical wah is logarithmic. Both Fulltone and Dunlop wah pots are log.
