VP4: "talking already about IRs and Looper“

I am not greedy. I ordered the VP4 for what it does. And maybe just a tad for what it may do in the future.
I remember seeing the quote „We are already talking about IRs and a looper“ or similar, two functions that would be great to have in my case. But I‘m not greedy, remember!
Now if the boss was quoted (and you may have met him before): Does it mean „nice to have but lets have a beer“? Or rather „that’s a challenge, an itch, …, what beer“? Or something like: „hey colleagues, some people go crazy about this, now get things done and no beer today!“
How do you guys read this? But remember, I‘m not greedy at all.

I think it's a we have had the discussion and are looking into it type of deal! I know I'm hoping for an IR loader/player because of the way I am planning on using it!

I would need one question answered, can I run in 4CM and still have 4 effects? or will it take one of the effect slots? or will it be an effect that can be running in the background and not take up an effect slot? (my personal favorite)! Only time will tell.

Fingers crossed that the latter is true when it (ever) comes to the VP4.

Part of that is what we appreciate about the FX8 and also the HX FX. Both have a looper and the Line 6 an IR block.

Those would be nice additional features for the VP4, but to me, also probably more than the original intent.

I really wanted to purchase VP4, but the lack of an IR loader (even a basic one with a limited number of slots) is a deal breaker for me. Having a direct feed is now the standard for where I play, and I really would rather not have to deal with another device. Maybe some day!

You know what's a fun way to run this thing? Run your amp into a load box and IR, then into the VP4 for post FX. Absolutely gorgeous sounds.

Kinda tempted to do this because the Mark V:25 has cabclone out (meaning guitar > 525 > VP4 > FR-12) but...and this is borderline ridiculous...then I can't really use the tuner*. And I realllly like the tuner lol

* I guess you could still technically use the tuner. Just seems weird to put the tuner in the loop, especially if you put some other pedals in front.

Just curious how folks would use an IR loader? Genuine dumbness on my part that I don’t known what the application would be. Is this a “one signal to amp on stage and another to front of house” deal?

I do not have a VP4. But I've been trying to convince a few of the members of one of my weirder bands to get an IR loader pedal for their electric cello and acoustic guitar. An acoustic IR from 3sigma audio, a little compression, a little eq, and a little reverb would be amazing for those types of instruments. As it is, that cello sounds like a mosquito half the time.

this! ^ exactly.
All I use my mini HXStomp board for is:
3 sigma IR > Eq> Comp> Reverb> Balanced out

Top Bottom
