Vintage Musicman amp as a monitor....surprisingly good

An old musicman RP 65 from about 78/79....keep the solid state pre low and use the valve power amp for volume, surprisingly good! As good as an SD170 to my ear...anyone else try this? It also gives you good eq for the room. I always run out 1 to FOH then out 2 to whatever i use for monitoring. Its loud as well.

I loved that amp.

So did Knopfler and Clapton. In fact those two guys played a lot of the same amps. Almost like they would call each other up and say "hey, you need to buy one of these!".
