Very hard to quickly adjust boost in all presets for various line-ups

I use a pedal that's attached to the output volume and set the minimum by setting the minimum cc value for that pedal at 115 for a trio and 110 (or less) when playing with a larger band.
I also use a command that sends a minimum volume cc of 115 or 110 when loading a preset.
With the Gordius, I can use a macro for this called "minimum volume".
When I need a boost for solo's, I send a command called "maximum volume" which is a cc of 127.
So far so good.
So, I only need to adjust a macro and the minimum cc value in the pedal to change the minimum volume of a preset and effectively setting the level for the solo boost.

I was looking for a way to do this on the Axe-Fx since I want something I can adjust quickly without having to go into the settings of the pedal.
This isn't done in a flash.

So I thought I'd use a volume block, connect the pedal to the level of that block, set the minimum level at -3dB and the maximum at 0dB et voila.
Same for the macro.
Make it a global block and I only had to adjust one value. Fast and easy or so I thought.
Not so.
Modifiers aren't copied in Global Blocks.
So it's back to square one.
Now if only I could set the minimum value of the output (cc# 40).
That would be easy.
Set the limit to -3dB for a trio. Send a CC value of 0 to get the -3dB attenuation (minimum level) and a value of 127 to get the maximum level.

If any of you have an alternative solution, I'll be glad to hear it.

BTW, I don't think there's any pedal that uses macro's like the Gordius so you can adjust all presets by only changing two parameters. So that makes it hard to find an alternative for that too.

In the I/O -> Midi page, can you use an external controller value?

Then you would just have to go to the one page and change it there.

This is what I do.
Attach a controller to the OUTPUT VOLUME.
I send a cc value of 110 or 115 for minimum volume and 127 for maximum.
Same with the pedal except it's continuous.
But you can not do it this way:
CC #040 000 = -3dB
CC #040 127 = 0dB

Attach output volume to an external controller and set the init value in I/O -> Midi to 100% for max or 86% for min?

You could use a second volume block or null filter where you set a small boost to account for the difference between the two lower values, and then use that external controller assigned bypass. This way you can have a small boost when needed by just seeing that controller value to 0 or 100%.

If I didn't have a pedal attached I could do it much simpler.
Use a volume or null filter as global block and adjust the boost as needed.
But since I also want to control my volume with a pedal I can't do this this easy.

Yeah... Sorry, in thinking more about my suggestion it won't work :(

Aha.
I've been thinking about another solution that could work with the Gordius.
First of all, it's too bad you can't use variables in pedals or it would've been very simple.
But I could make various boost level switches & pedals:
MinVol-6 / VolPedal-6 both would have their minimum values set to -6dB
MinVol-5 / VolPedal-5 ...
MinVol-4 / VolPedal-4 ...
MinVol-3 / VolPedal-3 both would have their minimum values set to -3dB
Use a variable called MinVol
Make a bank for choosing the right attenuation:
Switch 1: -3dB
Switch 2: -4dB and so forth

Add to the presets the condition to choose the appropriate MinimumVolume & VolumePedal

The thing is, with my presets becomming more complicated, I started looking at controllers with LCD-screens.
So I want to find a solution that would work with other pedals as well.

To be honest my first thought was to use a china marker on the front panel and make marks for the output 1 knob.

I do this with gear all the time for my easy to setup settings.

That's not the problem.
it's going from minimum to maximum for rhythm and solo.
Setting the level is not an issue.
once I've set it, I don't touch it.
