using external drive pedal with axe fx ii XL with axe wah block

I want to use the axe fx wah, but an external drive .... if i run from the out put that goes to the front of a tube amp into the OD pedal, then into front of amp, will that essentially position it with the wah first drive second, will the wah built in not sound as good? Thanks.

I really hope you've figured this out by now, but if not...

Are you saying your setup is: Guitar >> AxeFX >> OD Pedal >> Tube Amp?
If so, then yeah, the wah will be first, which is what you want (in most cases).

You can also put the OD pedal in the Fx loop of the Axe FX, that way you can place it anywhere you want in the signal chain.
