Using an EVM12L with a Thiele for a Passive FRFR cab?

I enjoy a bit of woodworking and was considering doing this project here and building my own cabs.

Thing is, I really would like to be able to use the cabinet simulation the axe offers, especially considering I have purchased a bunch of the redwirez IR's.

Reading the description it sounds like it might work.

Anyone have an experience with an EVM loaded thiele and used it with cab simulators?

I have built a couple of those from those exact plans. Great cabinet but you will need to add a tweeter and possibly a flatter, PA type speaker if you wish to effectively use cab simulations. That cab is built to physically emulate the characteristics of a larger guitar cab, and it does it really well, but full-range it is not.
 
I had a pair of Mesa Thieles. They came stock with Celestion C90's, but I had a pair of EVM12L's so I swapped and auditioned the cabs loaded with EVM with and without cabinet sims.

IMHO, it's not a good solution for FRFR.
