Hi guys/gals,

I was wondering what uses there could be for spdif in, i see that it's included in the fm9. Searching the forum i see some people using it for reamping. Any other use cases?

I am not 100% sure but you should be able to sync off of SPDIF in. Which would be useful for recording if you have other digital devices that need to share clock.

I can think of a couple of uses(e.g. Mixing desk output to FM9 in digital domain to avoid noisy analog) but the use case I’m most interested in is FM3 -> FM9 (not sure I’d ever need that much processing power but still want to try it). FM3 as guitar input, gate, comp, input filter / eq -> FM9 via SPDiIF for dual rest of the chain.

I have Ax3 SPDIF-OUT into Ax2 SPDIF-IN, then Ax2 SPDIF-OUT into audio interface SPDIF-IN. The Ax2 does 2 hq reverbs panned hard L/R, Enhancer, switchable Fx loop to TC Mimiq, Synth Fx, + end of Chain compressor. Loads of horsepower - minimal end to end latency, and I can have Ax2/Ax3 editors running simultaneously.
