Unable to control volume via midi

Finally getting around to automating my show.

I can’t get CC to send volume change to volume block.

Have modifier of volume in volume:pan block set to external1. Volume pedal works fine.

When I send CC16 the value is ignored. PC reset on or off is same result.

If I set volume modifier to external 3 and send CC18 volume change works.

I am unable to control external 1 or 2 with CC.
Need my volume pedal to be live on stage so I really need to figure out what is happening with external1 modifier.

I’m stumped.
 
That would be a last resort.

I put my volume blocks in front of delays and reverb so they can ring out naturally if I turn volume down.
 
Did you check what External Control 1 is set to in the I/O: CTRL menu? Default is CC#16 but this can be adjusted.

Thanks so much. Probably monkeyed with this in 2011 and haven’t touched it since.
