Last week, I dropped by my local GC, mainly there to check out guitars but they have some killer amps in the platinum room. There was an Uberschall running into a Marshall 1960a cab and OMFG had I been missing playing through real amps.
I sold my tube amp to fund the new Axe rig in march and have been using headphones and am pretty satisfied.
Anyway, the Uberschall sounded nothing like the Uberschall preset that came preloaded on my axe and I had never played one so I had no idea it could sound so... Incredible! (I had read but never experienced).
Got home, dialed in a Marshall 4x12 mix cab and played with the amp EQ: There it was! Same exact sound and feel that I fell in love with.
Just goes to show cabs/IR MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
And.... Fingers crossed that the CLR can satisfy my SPL "feel" cravings
