Trying to get a Within the Ruins type of tone, clip inside! (afx2/bkp)

Roll off the gain and treble a bit you'd be surprised how little gain is actually used in tones but your really close.

Most the time in the studio guitars are double or quad tracked. In the case of quad tracking I know of a technique where you take a really high gain sound and mix it with a low gain sound so you get crushing pronounced notes instead of fizz fizz screech.

Without that technique you typically find that guitars on their own have only a bit of gain.
