Transitioning from 6 string to 7 string?

Thinking of getting my 1st 7 string.

How hard is the transition from a 6 string to 7 string? Can anybody recommend a good 7 string guitar and tuning/ string gauge

It wasn't hard for me and I was already older. At the beginning you'll be confused for a day or two and afterwards it will become the new normal. I'm missing a string now if I take a 6-string guitar in my hands. I've even bought a classical 7-string guitar.

Re “good” you’ve been on forums for a few years, you already know what brands are good. You had some suhrs, you know what a well built guitar will be like. Go try some.

Ive had 7's over the years and ive just found that for me personally they aren't for me. I love hearing players that can make them sing. Its the same with me for really dow tuned guitars love bands that use stuff like drop b and drop a but I just get lost when I try to play that stuff.

As far as good 7 string, Ibanez obviously, but there are so many other brands at varying price points.
