TPS: Joey Landreth

I saw the Landreth Bros a couple of months ago and he was fantastic. In another era he’d be a total guitar hero. He managed to get a whole slew of fantastic and supremely musical tones wrapped around tunes that often had super quiet dynamics at times and were very song-oriented. Loved his playing. Also saw Ariel Posen recently who used to be in Landreth Bros and he was similarly great. Both guys tune low a lot I think. They had huge sounds.

Very cool indeed! I played at a festival a couple of years ago and these guys played right before us...great band and definitely fantastic tones. The main guitar player was super pumped when he saw I had a Suhr guitar and he'd never seen one before...he started in on me to trade it for his current main guitar (a Duesenberg guitar IIRC, which was also a really interesting axe and one I'd never heard of). Good guys and band.
