That's the core of my experiment, it should be interesting to understand if the captures you find snappy have been done at low MV

I have always assumed it is because playing a capture would be a very low processor task, vs modeling, which would require tons of processor to do all the math to model each component. It would take a processor time to do the math vs. something that is just playing a static sound.

I highly doubt a master volume setting would be that big of a difference, as compared to the technology behind what is producing the sound.
