I was so surprised at how much of a great guitar it really is. Mine is an older model as well and after the pickup swap it became quite the beast.

What pickups did you end up with?

I got with my buddy Tim at Buddha Pickups. He ended up handwinding me a set of Narshbuckers. They are a cross between bkp and Duncan's. Plenty of output and clarity but not as harsh
