Do you guys know how to open FX BLOCK.sys files in AE (current version)? There's a bunch of stuff I want to grab and try out but keep getting file invalid error messages when using the ones from the old thread. Are they outdated and no longer compatible for some reason?

If I remember correct, you have to put the .syx for the effect block here: My Documents -- Fractal Audio -- Workspace-v2 -- AxeEdit -- Effects

The old ones are not compatible with the New AxeEdit Beta1.9
That is why I thought it was a good idea to create this thread so we can tell the difference from old Effects blocks.
Not sure if these ones will be compatible with 3.0 when it comes out either.

You are correct, that is where they should go.
To use in AxeEdit:
Right Click the Block
Block
Recall Block

Effect block made prior to fw10 can't be used in AE 1.9.

You can install à second (older) AE version to see what is in the blocks and copy the settings.
Another way is to put the various blocks in patches (again using an older AE version).
Then use AE 1.9 to send those patches to the Axe. After that you can save them again as fw10 compatible blocks.

There's à pretty good write up on this somewhere on the forum. Sorry to say I can't remember who made that.

Funny, it was most of your blocks that I saw and wanted to try out Winger.

Thanks for the info guys, ill have to try some of these tips later.

Just to be clear. Those were not my blocks. They come from the Axe Ultra era. I just ported the settings over to the Axe II. I have proted some Wah's to FW10. Mainly because I wanted them as global blocks anyway. I haven't gotten around to the rest of them (yet). Hoping someone out there is willing to put the effort in this time, before I do.

I wish AE3 had the right-click block save and recall. I noticed that when I save a block in the new AE3 its a .blk file whereas all these old effects block presets are .syx files.
