Silly question, but wondering if fractal geometry plays a role in the modeling algorithms, and thus influenced the choice of name for FAS?

I think Cliff named it "Fractal Audio" because Fractals are a mathematical concept which is very close to nature. Look at the mandelbrot set. There are regions where you find patterns which look like trees, others look like rivers etc. One of the best known fractals is the Koch curve which mathematically "creates" snowflakes.

So Cliff always intended to get the Axe close to the original amps, which here correspond to nature. They work the way they do due to laws of physics.

Fractal Audio is actually the perfect name for this company imho! It's quite descriptive but still sounds quite nice.

Now why does another tech company call itself after a fruit ... Very strange indeed!!!
