Switching channels using an external footswitch

Hi! I'm new here, so I beg your pardon if this topic was covered.

Is it possible to use one external footswitch to go through the amps and effects channels on the go?

I've already have 3 expressions, so I was thinking about using the midi port.

Then you'd need a midi controller with switches... That's different than an "external switch".

It's easier to do channel stuff with an onboard switch or an external switch configured as a stand-in switch.

You might consider instead getting something like the AudioFront Expression IO and use that to connect your expression pedals, then use the pedal jacks for external switches.

I've been using one for years with 4 expression pedals.
