Very close indeed. IMHO lowering the gain makes it sound more like the original. This is particularly apparent listening to the isolated track. What do you think?

I always thought it was a Marshall Super Trem head: Slash's Amps | Marshall JCM 800, Silver Jubilee and AFD100

The Marshall AFD is a very recently manufactured head. It could not have been used for the AFD record.

Unfortunatley nobody knows the original amp mod perfectly...
I use two amp just for mix the tone...
The afd is close to the record's original track...but mod plexi or mod jcm800 too

Ps: sorry all for the bad note on the track...
I use slash tone ( afd is my real amp...) but i don't play Gn'R with my band... Totally different

I would like to know what cab was used on the AFD record? Checkerboard 4x12 with greenbacks?

I think he used the Classic lead on afd.
Greenbacks on the other records and vintage 30 for live shows
